Depends entirely on the parent and what their deal is and also on the pnm. If the pnm has friends and is quality despite the parent then friends will fight for them. It's really not that deep, it's mostly about the potential member not the parent.

Yes - people from little southern towns who are bored silly and dissatisfied with their lives can be terribly catty
