What a tragedy! Someone wanted to invite you into their sisterhood!

If you think you're too good to wear any sorority's letters then you're not good enough to be Greek at all. Period.

Furthermore, you need to seek out counseling if you're going to place all of your self worth in sororities who don't even know you and didn't want you when you went through recruitment.
You clearly have some deep emotional issues and problems adjusting to college life if you think that being in a "top house" is going to make you feel better and solve all of your problems.
Please go to the counseling center in Hathorne. This much suffering over sororities isn't worth it.

@get over it; I get what you mean when you're telling her that she shouldn't be basing her self worth on what her sorority is, but I feel like you're being a little harsh. From reading what she said it sounds like she genuinely doesn't feel like she belongs in her sorority not like she's "above them". I feel like a lot of people have this weird mentality that if someone doesn't feel right in their sorority that they're a huge snob that only cares about tiers, but I've known people even from "top tier" sororities that have said they don't exactly feel at home. Maybe she genuinely feels like she would be more at home somewhere else. The system isn't completely perfect.

Only thing I will say that for years people look down on you if you don't go one of the top 3. This year just had more girls realize that.

Why are you taking this girl to task? Why are telling her no one cares about her?

I am so sorry you have had such a bad experience. I wish you could find someone on your exec or come to Panhellenic that we can find some one that is willing to listen and perhaps address your problems. I am sorry that you feel belittled and feel that every house has merit... I wish you could find that spot for you. Not every one wants to tear you down.

I don't know why this one girl has taken you on and beat you down more but there are girls that will help. I hope you find one

I've never understood why people who get cut during rush think that all they need to do is go through it again and have a completely different outcome. If they cut you in the fall, how have you changed so much that they will want to offer you a bid in the spring? This isn't like a test that you retake and try for a better grade. It's not in your control - something didn't mesh the first time so why do you assume there would be a different outcome the second time around? Especially now that they've already met you and have already formed their opinion about you. You WERE given an option to pledge any sorority...that invited you back. You were given the same opportunity as everyone else to meet girls from every group, and you can't blame the school, the system, or anyone else for not getting the invitations back that you wanted.

It sounds like you are relying too much on other people making decisions for you and determining your happiness.

This is sad. Don't call yourself a leftover. It's not true. I'm sorry you have been made to feel this way.

I feel so bad for you and I don't agree with people getting on here and bashing you for not wanting your sorority. Do you HAVE to wait until May to drop out of it? And do the other sororities actually say mean things about yours or just act snobby? I hate all this for you and anyone else who was told to trust the system. You have the right to be disappointed without having people tell you to grow up. Best of luck to you, and you might be happier if you transfer. Again, I am so sorry.
