Greek life at MSU is fun if you’re in it, but you don’t have to be Greek like at some schools. That being said, your college experience overall will be better if you do go Greek

I haven’t heard of any hazing in sorority life. I’ve never felt the slightest in my sorority. I’ve heard that the frats have stupid tasks but never heard of anything extreme or wild. Comfortable school and greek life. Not too overwhelming to where you can’t work or keep up with school but just enough to be involved and social.

Mississippi state has a far less toxic Greek environment than many of its sec associates, but they are still very competitive and selective about who gets into good houses. There is for sure an old row superiority at state with Sigma Chi, SAE, KA, Pike, and Kappa Sig, being the top frats (all on old row minus sigma chi) and Delta Gamma, KD, Chi Omega, ZTA and tri delt being the sorority row homes that are most established. Over all, very good chapters and very good options for everyone

No clue why the previous comments are so negative. University administrations are becoming more strict on Greeks across the country. For the most part Greeks run every organization on campus. Multiple sororities and fraternities at MSU are considered top chapters by their national groups and have received numerous awards on the national level.

I love greek life at Mississippi State because you can choose to not be greek and still have a great time here. The leaders on campus tend to be greek and most of the chapters on campus are very tightly knit and are great chapters in general. I love how low-key but still fun it is here.

Mississippi state has a more relaxed Greek life but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t still competitive. Being in between Oxford and Tuscaloosa it’s like the mellow of the three but parties hard and has very distinctive chapter differences

Overall great Greek life at Mississippi State. It is fairly selective but for the most part if it is truly for you, you will find your place. Fun parties but never too crazy! Overall great life

Trust me, join Greek life, even if just for freshman year. It might sound so fake but having that one thing that you can identify with with other people, or being able to talk about it makes conversation so much easier and will give you a solid foundation at state.
