reasons to join a sorority?

Why dont we start discussing somethings worthwhile:
Sisterhood: Acceptance, commitment, friendship, we have your back, we can help you find your way in life, support, fun times, sharing.

More reasons: Lots of different type of social events and learning events. Do a lot or do a little - it's up to you. Learn leadership skills by taking on a committee head position or Exec position. Sisters to lean on -- like family. Opportunities. Great house to live in or go for meals and hang out.

Some join for the fun, some join in hopes of making true friends, some join for the date parties and meeting men, some join because every other female in their family did, some join because they think it is a statue symbol, some join to find a husband, out of staters join in order to meet people (not all and not the only reason), and the list goes on. I would say most do NOT join because of a particular philanthropy or to gain a leadership position, both of which can be obtained just by being a student.
