Could you fake recs and fake legacies? Like if I were to say my aunt were an alumna of a certain sorority when she wasn't, or make up a Rec with some random name, could that work out???

No! Strong nationls check all of this info. Girls new stuff about my Momma that I did not even know. Be careful.

Having an Auntie does not make you a legacy in my sorority. We can login online at any time to verify if someone is a member.

I can safely say that no house would want someone with this mentality. There is absolutely no way to fake a legacy. As for getting recs it isn't that hard if you put effort into it. Think friends moms, your parents friends, adult women at your church, job, hell my favorite high school teacher wrote me a rec . Don't ask random people but just express your interest in rushing to any and all adult women in your life that you are close to. Something tells me that's too much work for you.

Of course! Just make up legacies and recs - nobody's going to check! Bring it!!

Oh, and if one sorority figures out you're a fraud, they won't tell any other sororities, so don't worry about that!

I realize that it's easy to look up legacies to see if someone was a member of a sorority but do the chapters actually contact every single legacy member to verify the relationship?

Like for example if I knew 'Jane Doe' from my hometown was a member of 'Alpha Beta' sorority, could I get away with saying I'm an Alpha Beta legacy and Jane Doe is my stepmom (which explains the different last name)? Just wondering.

Being a legacy can hurt more than it can help. Sororities cut legacies of other houses.

Unless the PNM is constantly talking about being a legacy, only liking her legacy sorority, I don't think it hurts at all. If anything, it shows that she's not tied to her legacy and is willing to give the other houses a chance. Being a legacy is more neutral if you ask me.
