panhellenic sororites?

Is this how it really is at Bama? I recently read in another post:
I have NEVER seen anyone from an Old Row sorority/fraternity visit a philanthropy event hosted by a New Row house, and I haven't seen any New Row girls at ones put on by Old Row sororities, either.

I think you're in denial that this isn't a problem. I was giving examples. The point I'm making is that sororities don't want to support other sororities philanthropies, because it might "hurt" their image. It's not limited to New Row/Old Row, as I've seen it among New Row sororities, too. My New Row sorority NEVER went to other New Row sorority's events, and I NEVER saw girls from other sororities visit ours, either. I have friends in Old Row sororities, and they never went to others' either.
It's disappointing, because people worry more about their image than a philanthropic event or charity function. We have a large Greek system which could make a difference, but people put more weight into their social climbing endeavors than to realize the bigger picture. Can you imagine how much money could be raised if everyone chipped in on forming a communal effort? It would probably improve 'Bama's reputation in the public eye, as well.

Pan love isn't much of a thing here. I would go so far to say that Ole Miss does a better job getting along with one another. But your experience is what you make it. If you fall into "group think" you will just be like you are describing. I am New Row and have good friends both Old and New row who think for them selves. Having friends in other housea doesn't make you a bad sister, it makes you a good person.

"this is important, who else hangs out with the same circle of frat boys."
Sadly, this is accurate. A lot of people at Alabama are too concerned with what everyone else is doing, that they fail to stand up for their own beliefs and convictions. We can use the "I don't have time" excuse, but if you have time to "netflix and chill", there's a pretty good chance you could fit in an appearance at a philanthropy event as well, or at least make a donation if you can't be there.

I gotta say this is a little off. This past semester me and a bunch of other new members went to a lot of other sorority's stuff. The Zeta football game for breast cancer over at the intermural fields was a big event a lot of sororities' members attended. Same for Anchor splash. The AXO walk a mile in her shoes thing is another event a lot of people from all over went to. I know I went to stuff whenever I could. Others do the same. It is important for each house to really work hard to promote their events though and to make them fun.
