by: DGI'm thinking about transferring and I wanted to know how DG is here? The school I'm at we are top tier but we only have 10 sororities so I know it's really different here.

Here's my advice, DG.
First, welcome to Alabama. We're happy you're here.
Hold off on affiliating right away. Let the chapter know you're on campus. They'll probably invite you to dinner. Tour the house. Meet and get to know some of the girls.
If you feel at home, full steam ahead on affiliating!
If you don't, you don't HAVE to affiliate. You can retain your alumnae status. If you DO affiliate and don't like it, your only recourse would be to resign. DG does not have an inactive status and 5th year senior status is exactly that - you have to be an undergraduate in your fifth year of undergraduate studies.
If I were you, I'd go slow at first.

hello! I'm a freshman and i have a few really good friends in DG! personally, i love it, but i'm not really a greek life person myself. they seem to be a sorority with a bunch of different types of girls, but it works well. their philanthropy, to me, is the best part of this sorority. it's the most fun event out of all the other sororities philanthropy events, and i think thats what counts! they seem like genuine girls who dont give a crap what their ranking is, they're just happy to be there. They're fun and sassy and may not be old row, and if you discount them because they're new then you dont deserve them.
