aggressiveness on social media
by: pnmI have been really surprised at how aggressive some of the top old row houses have been on social media in already trying to recruit girls. I would have thought they wouldn't have to try so hard (especially this early) since they are already so well known, but I guess they are just aggressive because they are competing for the same girls as other top houses?

Last year one house in particular had no less than like 12 girls comment "congrats can't wait to meet you" on a pic of a pnm's acceptance to bama. Needless to say she did not go that house, although the house she did get a bid to is pretty aggressive as well. My house doesn't do this as much but I've always assumed the more "popular" houses do so pnms are under the impression that they are a top priority, which isn't always the case

It is to make girls feel wanted, but most of the time (for my house at least) it's because we actually are very interested in the girl. We wouldn't go through all that effort for a girl we didn't think would fit into our house. So I would tell pnms to take it as a positive sign if they're getting a lot of friend requests/likes/comments, but know that it doesn't necessarily mean you have a bid. It's also not the end of the world if girls aren't adding you, especially if you don't know many girls in sororities here.
