They will lie to you and you will be totally crushed skit day..you might get 3 or 4 of the ones you originally had in mind. Don't count on it. The problem is while you might feel the connection they don't. Maybe you will find the perfect place for you. I'm still trying to fit in my choice and no I did not consider the sorority I pledged till pref. I felt it was the better of the rest...not so sure now. Just my opinion everyone has own experience. Keep an open mind for real. The only real thing you can depend on is connections. Good luck!

This is important for students going through rush next year. The house chooses you. You get to rank out of who keeps you, which is why people constantly will tell you to keep an open mind. There is no way to know where you'll end up. The most important thing is to have someone INSIDE the house pulling for you once rush starts.

This is good honest feedback. Connections before recruitment or becoming a key soph's Rush crush is the path to a good bid.

I was lucky. I kept getting invited back and I pledged my first choice. And one member who rushed me at several parties, became my big sis! They related to my artsy style and made me feel it was okay to not be the super sorority stereotype. I felt comfortable there (although still nervous during rush). I was inspired to contribute my talent and be a part of something very exciting.

Honestly you can never be positive if a house likes you no matter what they say. Some of the houses I thought loved me the most dropped me, and ones I thought didn't like me asked me back. For me, I ended up at the house I loved most. It felt like home for me from day one and the girls were so much like myself. I had 3 options I really loved on prefer and went based off the one I felt most excited to go to when I got my schedule.
