chi o's pledgeship

How come XO still has a semester-long pledgeship for grades but every other sorority has a shortened new member period? As far as I know, it's a national policy and they're the only ones in NPC to have a semester-long pledgeship.

As far as I know every sorority used to have a semester long new member period but one by one most sororities have transitioned to a shorter one. My sorority is on the long end of the shorter nm periods but I still wish we did it like chi o.
