I'm a senior from California that's interested in rushing next year. If I don't attend any spring or summer parties do I have any chance of getting a bid from a solid fraternity? I have a buddy from my school who's currently a middle tier JI. Any tips and information would be helpful. Thanks

Plan on attending as many parties as you can when you come to Bama Bound. Make sure to connect with the Rush Chairman at each house!

Don't worry about rushing a lot of the "old row" houses, because they mainly recruit family and friends from their home towns. And their pledge classes may be closed already. And if you're from California, trust me, you won't want to pledge at one of these houses anyway!

There are tons of great houses that rush OOS guys! Just be super outgoing, find your group and make sure you feel comfortable at the house. Visit them a few times in Augsit too before you accept a bid.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot. When is the best time to come for Bama Bound? There's different months from what I understand?

Thanks

Many of the California kids come for the very last session in August. That way, you can move into the dorms that same week. My friends from New York attended that same session, as well. It all depends on how many trips your family can afford and how many trips you want to take in the summer. There are plenty of fraternity parties that week in August.

Write off SAE, KA and DKE. The rest of them are mostly solid and will give you a good shot. See where you fit.
