by: Hoolahoop123I was just admitted to Alabama last week and want to do a sorority. I am a very friendly girl & am really involved in a ton of stuff. But i have a 2.8 GPA. Does that automatically mean i can't get in a sorority?

A 2.6 is not a "slight exception."
They might for a gorgeous legacy with big volunteer work or accomplishments outside school if you had a 2.8, but a 2.6?
You're screwed.
I don't even know how you got into school. Maybe through a special program.
Honestly, you need to pledge the library and bring up your grades. College is WAY different from high school. I know a lot of kids who hardly ever studied in HS and then didn't even know how to study when they got to college, with all its distractions.
Improve your GPA and then we can talk.

I rushed last spring and I had a 2.9 they make the first cut based on gpa. I was only left with 2 houses, Delta Zeta and Gamma phi. It does matter and will limit your options. I ended up getting cut.
