DKE pledges guys almost exclusively based on connections to active brothers, family wealth/social status, and in house legacy. If you don't have these things, they won't even look at you. I'm not being rude, it's just the truth. And that's exactly why you've heard both good and bad things about DKE. Don't stress, as long as you're attractive, have great social skills, can handle your alcohol, can talk to girls without looking like a creeper, have good grades, good involvement, and come visit this year and attend as many summer parties as you can to get to know guys in various houses, you'll end up with a bid to a great house where you'll be very happy. It just won't be DKE. Good luck!
