They're meaningful ceremonies where you become full members of the organization. There's nothing dangerous or crazy like you see in the movies; those are more like hell nights/week which constitute hazing.

Every house is different. In some houses, you are initiated individually, and in others you are initiated with your entire pledge class. The actual content and the layout of initiation is sacred, but it's very calm and chill. You're really just learning all of the secrets of the sisterhood.
