qualifiers
by: MollyOk, so I would love to see what other people think makes a top house or pledge class. Some people are saying grades, some looks, some hs activities, and some are claiming what they've done (specifically pledges) since they got to UA. I mean, come ON. I have some pretty strong disagreements against a few houses claiming top spots over and over again, but I realize it could just be different definitions; thus my question. Thanks :)

So it's pretty clear she's not talking about the "natty people". She's talking about the "nice imports people". I'm guessing you're one of the later. Is that what I'm hearing? Hahahahaha

There are people who rank on which houses get which MB girls. If one house does better than expected they go to the top. Worse, they drop down a few notches. For these folks all the new row is at the bottom and pretty much irrelevant. (Think AXO)
Some rank for looks only and don't care about reputation, tradition, academics, etc. That type of house is low in grades but feel like they deserve to be high because they have a "great looking new class." (Think A Phi.)
Some rank for a sweet sisterhood taking girls that they think fit with the rest of the house. They aim for girls with good reputations, good grades if possible, decent looking, etc. (Think Theta or G Phi.)
Some rank for which houses are popular with the fraternities -- in other words, kind of easy. I'm not giving an example because I want to keep this post as positive as possible.
Some rank for which houses are super involved at Bama and which ones are successful with the things they do. (Several fit in this category)
That's why you see so many different rankings. There are also a million moms and alums on here giving their imput. It may not be what people actually going here would say but theirs is more of a traditional rankings as they have been 20 years ago or so.

@what you're seeing. Thank you! That was really positive, but still helpful. It's gotten so messed up with non UA students on here, or with one or two houses that seem to be self promoting (again, maybe moms), and then with the hateful comments, it seems everyone is arguing for no reason. Opinion is fine, but I'm kind of tired of being told status for one new row group or one old row group all the time. Maybe that's just me, tho.

Definitely. All real MB goes to KD or Tridelt. Not really Kappa but a little. Third. AGD and AXO are trying to grow in MB but they will always be Vestavia/Hoover and places like Trussvile.
