swaps
by: newWhy do certain fraternities only swap with a few sororities? I thought the purpose was to get to know everyone.

So we were just sitting around talking about our swaps...One girl said I have a swap with ABC another said XYZ then we compared lists. Some were the same but all different. One girl said lets ask Greek Rank......BIG MISTAKE.....We all left feeling awkward. Its not easy to be labeled when you have no reason to be. We are still the same people. Every swap we all have been to has been awesome.. We came here mostly from a small town to experience college life at the highest level. I guess we were all BIG FIsh at one time. Thank you all for your comments I guess. and I know one thing is without a social class ...ROLL TIDE!

If you go back and read #9 you'll see that the self-confident part of the upper tier are willing to get out and meet other people. If their family hasn't been here that long and they're still looking for outward validation of their staus, they are more likely to cling to the symbols that say high status to them. If your family has been high status for many generations, you don't look to validate your status. You just know who you are and don't worry about trying to prove it to other people.

If you really are a PNM, you'll fit right in at Bama (I'm saying this in a good way) because you're already aware that the "Southern Kiss of Death"= Bless your heart!! Love it! You were raised well and I'm sure you'll be just fine during recruitment :). Good luck!!
So all of these Old Row girls trying to defend themselves from the deserved reputation of being known as easy and sure to put out by Old Row fraternities, while simultaneously trying to put other houses down for refusing to lower their standards to that level just so they can say they swapped with a "top" fraternity on campus while they were in college...well, bless your little hearts!!!
