Do I have to identify as a legacy?
by: legacy
I am going to Bama next fall, and my sister, who graduated two years ago, was in a sorority there. I want to go through rush on my own merits, and not get a house just because my sister was in one. And I don't know if my sister's house will be the house I'd fit into or if another house would be better, because I only know her house.
Is there a way that I don't have to disclose I'm a legacy before going through rush?
#2by: not at all
You don't have to put your legacy status on your rush form or anything you send in to register, and do tell your rec writers not to disclose your legacy if they already know it. No one needs to know. You can let your legacy house know if you wish because you many actually like it, and there will be a few girls there who remember her since it was only a few years ago. But most sororities don't really care about your legacy any longer unless you have a current sitting sister.
