Sororities & Vaping

by: PNM 23

Are sororities overall okay with vaping? Is it more acceptable in some houses than others?

Definitely frowned upon. I was called to standards for vaping.

All sororities are strict about vaping like that, but let underage drinking slide as long as you don’t make spectacle of yourself or post about it on social media?

The fact is that underage drinking doesn't slide in many houses. Just because girls do get called to standards and YOU don't know about it, as it should be, doesn't mean they don't get consequences for it. Plus smoking and vaping is not allowed inside any house because it affects the people around you, makes the house smell nasty, and smoking is a fire hazard. The same in dorms. It's also a stupid look, so that's enough. Don't wear my letters and do that.

I’m in an OR house and no one cares at all as long as it’s not in photos

Most of the girls in my house vape. They don't care as long as you don't do it in any pics. One girl in our house did called to standards for it because she was vaping "excessively" in front of other parents on Parents Weekend. I think one of the Moms made a "stink out of it." (I am in an OR house).

I'm in a nr house and no one really cares unless you're doing it at chapter or somewhere you're representing your chapter (philanthropy events, parents weekend, ect)

It's the South, do it but never talk about it or get photographed doing it. This applies to 98% of bad college behavior.
