Out of state rush
by: ?What are the chances of having a good rush if you come from out of state and don’t know a single person?? Grades and everything else is really good but i’ve been told that knowing people and people knowing you is a big factor?

You have a very good chance of having a great Rush. Get your LORs in, clean up your social media, start following the sororities (all of them), and put yourself out there during Rush. Don't listen to people's opinions on specific sororities and keep an open mind. You will end up where you are meant to be.

Open mind, open mind, open mind.
Know you will be disappointed somewhere along the way. Maybe even a couple of times along the way. 99% of girls rushing are.
Ignore where your roommate whose mom and sister know everybody at bama forever say about anything. Same for the girl down the hall. They know absolutely nothing about what's right for you. Hey, they may not even know what's right for them.
And have FUN. This has become way too stressful and high pressure. It is a sorority, not, I don't know, a holy sacrament. Go where YOU enjoy yourself. Not where you are impressed. Now where you are wowed. Not where Emyleigh the cool kid from Mountain Brook is going. Go where YOU have truly enjoyed yourself the most.
You do you, everybody else can suck it.

I am from out of state. I didn’t know anybody going into rush. I had great grades and resume; sent in LORs for most sororities. Made my social media public. I always had a full round of houses that were both Old Row and New Row and got my top pick. I wouldn’t worry at all.
#6by: Don’t worry
I came from oos, didn’t know a single person. Had great grades and resume and got LORs for nearly all houses. Full schedule every round, preffed AXO and Kappa. I love my house and the girls I’ve met. Just make sure you’re prepared, have your recs, have an open mind about the houses and know the do’s and don’ts of how to act/talk in the houses.
