KKG Dirty Rushing?

I am a sophomore and I was so excited to finally be involved in the recruiting process. Overall I was frustrated with how it turned out and I wanted to get this off my chest:

I had some great connections with some PNMs but they ended up going KKG and one of them told me it was because they were promised a bid in the first interview.

Is this dirty rushing? Has anyone else heard something like this?
