I was dirty rushed then dropped
by: PNMI am actually so tired of Alabama’s Recruitment. I have gotten many amazing houses back; however, I woke up this morning getting dropped by Zeta which was probably my favorite house going in. I was reached out to by so many girls, taken out to lunch, and was constantly encouraged to keep Zeta in mind during recruitment. I liked all of the girls I met, so why would I be dropped? They knew who I was because they reached out. Like why dirty rush a PNM that you don’t plan on keeping? What did I do?
#6by: They do this every year
Unless Zeta girls contacted you or made comments on your social media after no contact, they didn’t dirty rush. In the past, they would do that to certain groups of girls, especially if they wanted certain girls within that clique. If they bid promised you this week (“I can’t wait for you to be my sister/ my little! We love you here so much and want you to be a zeta”), you have every reason to feel cheated. They do this in order to get more girls to rank Zeta as a favorite house so they, the actives, can do less parties because they can cut the maximum number of PNM’s for Philanthropy and Sisterhood. To them, they liked you but you were more a filler number than a sister.
#7by: Stay Positive!
I get how you feel, but do not take it personally. Zeta is very strategic and does this every year. A lot of girls do want/like that house so they have a wider variety to choose from, along with some of the other top houses. They may have liked you, but simply may have thought you fit better somewhere else. Take it as a gesture. You will find where you belong.
#8by: Yep
They are very popular this year with PNMs and you were not as high on their list as others were. Does not mean that they didn’t like you. Does not mean that you were not a good fit . Sisters were probably rooting for you but they are just super competitive this year and are very hard to get into
