Not getting a bid if below quota?
by: curiousJust say the quota is 100 girls for both my houses and both of my houses rank me #101 let’s say, will I not get a bid? How does it work then?

Even the top of the top houses has girls in their top 100 (if the quota was 100) that will rank a different house as #1, so rank slightly out of the top 100 is nothing to worry about. Quota additions are standard here so even if you are lower on their list then where they land once they hit quota you still have a good chance. The only way you don’t get a bid at this point is if you suicide bid (then you are not eligible for quota additions) or if you majorly majorly f up and both your houses take you off their lists. But I can’t stress enough how rare that is, like you would basically have to show up clearly drunk or high.

If you rank both houses on your Pref card, you are guaranteed a bid to one of them. Even if they both rank you dead last on their Pref lists - an invitation to Pref means they know you could become a member b/c chapters cannot cut after Pref (unless of course you show up drunk or something horrible)
The bid matching system all campuses use now is called RFM & it guarantees every PNM a bid as long as you do not suicide.
If both chapters meet quota before your name comes up on their lists, then you will be added to one of them as a Quota Addition. Usually to your #1 but sometimes to your #2 if that chapter has fewer members.
But usually chapters dip into their 2nd bid list to make quota. It would be exceptional for a chapter to get 100% of their top list ranking them #1. So at 1 past quota on both lists, you would likely still be getting your #1 as chances are they won’t be full yet.
You will not know if you were a QA or a regular bid match bid, neither will the chapter. Don’t stress about all the ranking stuff, please!!
