Let’s settle this

by: Ok

The more elite/strong national sororities:

Theta, Kappa, Pi Phi, Tri Delt, DG, APhi, ZTA

Though I think aphi is problematic they are up there in their strength. Not as good in the south but very strong in the Midwest and west. Overall all these sororities are typically the most well rounded nationally.

Chi O, KD, and Phi Mu are very strong in the south but kind of lack everywhere else. Chi O though credit to them they are the biggest womens fraternity so you could say they belong up there in terms of geography but their chapters tend to be mid everywhere besides the south.

I would still put XO up there but everything else I do agree with

Yes plus chi o. Nationally they’re the GOAT.

Not ZTA. Very weak nationally.

Doesn't matter how strong they are nationwide.
All that matters is how hot they are on THIS campus, no other.
Which is pretty much stupid.

Similar with SK, they are more of a northern sorority and are considered weaker nationally, not on the same strata as Chi O or AXO etc, but they are still awesome!

I don’t think other than size/national support you can really classify elite national sororities. For example, PKT dominates in Texas but is super hit or miss in the entire Midwest. APhi is probably the one sorority that has a strong national reputation based on what their president is pushing (arguably damaging their reputation everywhere).

ehh I would take DG out. They have some strong chapters but the second a chapter starts tanking and is considered bottom they completely shut them down and don’t try to build them up

theta and aphi do this too

From what I can see they’ve only closed three chapters since 2018. Kappa closed 4 in 2021 alone. There’s really only so much you can do for some chapters.

“There’s only so much you can do for some chapters” these chapters are typically considered bottom because they are more inclusive than other chapters on campuses. The girls there are still happy with those chapters and it’s incredibly sad when those chapters close due to a reputation of having “bigger” girls. It’s pretty messed up fraternities can operate on lower numbers but sorority nationals see their smaller chapters as not viable

I think every national org should build chapters up and celebrate diversity but their WashU chapter only had 7 active members on a campus where total chapter size is in the 150s. That’s what I mean by you can only do so much.
