This is so stressful

by: Ugh

I only have 3 houses left. I don't get it. I have a over 3.9 GPA, in state, ton of activites. I had good conversations in every house and several rec letters. Whats wrong with me. I just want to quit. So different then how I hoped this would be.

Based on the tone of all the comments, I would say that all the comments came from Actives in houses. Despite the horribleness of GR, all us actual Actives support each other and the Bama Greek system. Enjoy your week. Find the house out of the 3 that you can make friends in. It's the only thing that matters.

When I rushed 6 years ago I had 3 houses left for philanthropy, and I got so upset that I dropped out. I ended up finding my home sophomore year, and I don’t regret it at all, but part of me still wonders what would have happened if I stuck it out with the 3 houses. It’s super easy to feel discouraged at this point, but trust the process and don’t give up.

Nothing is wrong with you. If you are not comfortable, drop out, go to classes, get involved in other orgs, focus on your education and take a deep breath. In the long run you will realize that you can take part in COB. Sit back and relax, watch the girls freaking out and sort out which chapters are doing well which chapters are fake and which might be good for you in the long run.

So much solid advice and positivity. It is tough being 17 or 18 and walking into this process. You don't have control. It is really, really hard and it will test you. You may see things that seem unfair or hear things that are not the best, but you just have to tell yourself that you are really great. You can and will find a home. It might be this week, might be in spring or even next year. This seems really huge in your life right now, but it all evens out. Always remember you are perfect and you deserve the best for you. Be patient, be strong, and just know you are worthy of whatever your heart wants!
