by: ???rushing and want to have fun and do well in school…but have heard some sororities are super strict and push members to do everything to have a presence on campus. Don’t want to be required to do every single UA interview just so —- has the best “involvement”. want to have a great college experience without all that stress. Suggestions on which to avoid and which to consider????

"Avoid" is not what pnm's do. The sororities do the choosing. You will have a much better rush if you accept that you are not so much in control of the houses where you will be returning throughout the week. You must accept the choices you are given. The sororities that are super focused on involvement will be focusing on the pnm's who were all that in high school, so if your resume doesn't show that, and you don't give off that vibe, you need not worry about landing in one of those houses. With that said, all sororities encourage their members to be active on campus, but even the most involved houses don't push their individual members to do it all. They want an involved membership as a whole, which is very different than what you are thinking. Yes, you will be encouraged to consider lots of opportunities, and some are more prestigious than others, but it's better for everyone if you find something to be involved in and do it really well and take an eventual leadership position in it instead of being just a member of lots of different committees. The houses that really want a presence on campus are also focused on high GPA, so there has to be a balance with what you can do within that, especially if you have a harder major. But again, you don't "avoid" as a pnm; that's handled for you.
