Recruitment as a plus size girl
by: Offred
Hi y'all, I am going through formal recruitment this fall and I only see blonde, very thin, model-type girls rushing. What are the chances for someone who is a larger girl? Does that count against me since I am not your typical sorority girl? I am
Only looking for the right fit. I don't expect to find top tier houses after me.

I mean its hard to say much when all I know about you is your weight... like "plus-size" doesn't say much about your personality, grades, style, ect ect ect which houses care about. Although I would say you might fit in best or have the greatest sense of belonging in theta or dg, if body positivity/ being plus size is important to you, and looks houses might make you feel alienated.

This summer scope out all of the houses social media. Do you see women of all shapes and sizes?
During recruitment evaluate each house you're interested in during philanthropy & sisterhood. Do you see girls of different body types who look different from each other? Or do you see girls where only one beauty standard is represented?
There are girls of every shape and size in top tier sororities - don't count yourself out. If they decide they aren't interested in you because of your size - you don't want to be there.

But there is NOTHING wrong with these houses! Seriously, the "bottom" houses are great. Go with where you feel connected.
