Jefferson vs. University houses

by: Pac man

Is there really a big difference between Jefferson and university houses besides the size of the house? are the parties better, do they have swaps with better sororities, are they more popular? or does it not matter

If you’re in a respected Jefferson house with tradition on campus (Delta Chi, DTD, Kappa Sigma, maybe even LXA) then you’ll be fine. Ones like Chi Phi or Phi Sig will lie to you during rush to fill their 20 person pledge class… not worth it for those.

The University frats have bigger parties, better bands at their band parties and bigger darties but those parties attract an insane amount of non-Bama students and high schoolers. Watching high school girls get super drunk and act stupid isn't a vibe. I hate that part about the big parties.

Unless you are an OR elitist, Jefferson houses that are big enough to host band parties and out of state formals are just as fun and probably a much better place for dudes that aren't from Bama or other Southern states. The in-state Bama girls may not attend your parties but you may not care.

I'm 100% biased because my boyfriend is in a Jefferson frat and his house and friends are so fun. My friends and I have a great time hanging with them.
