It's not about being 'strict.' Different sororities recruit different kinds of girls, so it's not that sororities recruit whomever and then lay down the law and get strict, they just don't choose certain types in the first place. Each house has its own culture, and if your primary focus is partying, that will be apparent during recruitment and you won't be asked back to houses that aren't looking for that type of girl. If you don't want a 'strict' house then no worries, they don't want you either.
