Homecoming Queen Election
by: hmmWhat do y’all think about the article from the Crimson White about McLean’s campaign violations?

Kappa has had girls on HC court in 2019 and 2020, who ran a better campaign than Montana did this year, and those girls still lost. If you want to say Kappa was due in 2021, fine. But, McLean DID meet all the qualifications and has done outstanding community work ( she was philanthropy chair in Kappa). Montana is a fantastic athlete and representative for UA, for sure. But her philanthropy ( the major reason for Queen so it doesn’t just become a popularity contest) wasn’t well thought out and is still in the baby stage. It was very vague but it has her personal mantra attached- “Be the Blessing”. I wish Montana luck in getting her camps ( no shade but I think that is what they are trying to support) off the ground.

They have never asked, historically, for receipts to be turned in like this ever before in this timeframe. And the reporter is claiming only a slight margin of win when on one of the UA’s official Instagram sites, they claimed a significantly higher margin? Who do we trust?

I think it’s creepy so many people over 22 care about this.
As far as the rest…I think some people are mad the machine candidate beat an athlete but I don’t think it was unfair…they got out and voted and the majority of students didn’t care enough to vote. I also agree McLean’s philanthropy was stronger.

Sorry. 2018 and 2019. We didn’t have a 2020 HC.
