Transfer student doing COB or wait for fall?

by: Transfer

I just transferred this spring and I’m a sophomore. I wasn’t in a sorority at my previous school because it wasn’t a really big deal and they didn’t have houses. I contacted panhellenic about my options but after reading some stuff here it seems like I don’t have a good chance doing COB since I don’t really know many girls here yet. But I’m also worried that if I wait until fall I’ll be a junior and might not be desirable. Just looking for some advice from current students please on what I should do ☺️

do cob...so many houses are doing cob and you'll have better options as a sophomore now than as a junior

Definitely try out cob! There’s no harm in trying as a new transfer and if it doesn’t work out then you could still meet people and benefit from that if you rush in the fall

Formal in the fall for juniors with no connections can be brutal. Reach out. What could you lose? Best case you open your mind and you get a bid this month. Worst you wait until the fall and get dropped. Being in the spring is so much different that fall. Fall is weird if you arent a freshmen. Had a junior in my PC and it was flat out weird.
