Living in Tuscaloosa this summer for fun

by: Bored af

Ok long story short, my dad got a really great opportunity and we moved across the country in May. I will be honest starting a new high school in my senior year TOTALLY ONLINE has been so hard. I haven't made any real friends, had to drop all my activities and I'm miserable. My favorite cousin is currently a junior at Bama and we've come up with the idea of me living with her for the summer (one of her roommates is already looking for a summer sublease). I just think it would be fun. Hanging out by the pool, getting a part time job, getting to know t town. Also it's perfect location to take little trips to the beach/Atlanta/nashville/my home town 💙💙. She's not in a sorority but some of her friends are. Just how weird would that look rushing? Obviously I wouldn't get in any trouble or make a fool out of myself. Also how bad is it going to look that I have very little involvement just for this year?

You just gave too much details and that looks worse than just spending a summer in T-town. Don’t give out identifying info on here before you rush, now her friends that are actives might be able to see that you’re posting on GR and that looks bad.

That your cousin is a junior at bama, your grades are bad and you have no activities for senior year, that you would plan to live here for the summer.... stop posting on GR

This post is pretty stupid. Honestly you should have it taken down.
But Heres actual advice, come on down! Its very chill during the summer. Don't make an ass out of yourself. Try to avoid partying with people in greek life. It is KINDA weird what you are doing but its not a negative. Id say have your rec writers include stuff about your situation. It sounds really rough but I understand. I transferred my junior year and it is really hard to break into friend groups that have existed since kindergarten. Just present yourself as well as you can on social, your resume, your recs and during recruitment. If your grades are good and you dont embarss yourself anymore you should be fine
