Sorority bids /oos

by: idk

I just accepted to attend in the fall of 2021 and am interested in rushing. I don't know a soul at this school and am from Florida. Is it hard to get a bid from oos?

You're from the South so that's a plus. Def make sure your insta is looking good and don't let anyone take videos of you drinking, partying, bc you will get blacklisted from good houses.

If you're asking on here, you're probably the type that will get dropped by almost everyone

Almost everyone, with a few exceptions, gets “a bid”. As long as you don’t suicide (pick only one house) and complete the process.

The question is what house you may get a bid from and that depends on a number of factors - grades, zip code, looks, personality, etc.

Best of luck, sure you’ll do great and find your home!

Even if you don’t get old row if you are pretty and likeable you could get best of old row (Zta, pbp)

For some - particularly non-local, out of state girls - Old Row may not be where you find a fit.

But don’t write off OR, I see this narrative everywhere on this site but plenty of oor girls go old row houses and love it. I was obsessed with my house from day one of rush and they are known for being a house where top in state girls go. Definitely a different experience than new row but unless you’re trying to be on exec, it doesn’t really matter.

Ranks are so OR biased that “the narrative” needs to be explained so some don’t misinterpret and it’s a fair comment.

The comment doesn’t say “will NOT” find a fit, so it’s more than reasonable.

NR and “lower” ranked houses don’t have a “lesser experience” - at least if you aren’t needing to affiliate with your old HS friends.

It’s a fair point.

I didn’t mean either experience was better than the other, it depends on what you want. Like if you want to be your sorority’s president and you’re from far OOR do not go old row. I just meant so many people push the idea that OR is not really for oos girls and it can be. I had the best experience that I could have asked for in an OR house being from far away. That’s all I meant
