I'm from London england and I'm coming to bama next year. Would being international and having ZERO connections mean I get instantly dropped by some houses? Its making me really question if I want to rush because I feel like I'll be treated differently.

International girls do well during rush if they are cute and normal. I think actives think it’s cool there have been 1 or 2 international girls in my house that I know of

some houses will but I think that being from England will make you stand out!! have good grades and be good at talking and you’ll be fine.

Assuming you're attractive/charismatic, you'd probably have the upper hand because it makes you unique compared to other girls here. I know of a couple of girls who are international, I think there's 2 British ones and an Australian while I've been here

Unrelated but imagine the culture shock after living in England then moving to Alabama.

Also culture shock doesn’t necessarily have to be because bad things are happening. Alabama is inherently so different than England regardless of how much crime is committed. It will be a MASSIVE culture shock trust me as someone who has lived in different places in the country moving to Tuscaloosa was eye opening to say the least

My chapter had an international member who is several years older than me. Everyone loved her and I got to meet her when she came back to the States. Good luck to you; I think you will enjoy Greek life here!
