what are the rankings here based on?
by: confusedi'm thinking of coming here next year and i'm honestly confused by the sorority ranks. is it like in-state houses are ranked top? social scene? because based on actual looks it really seems like phi mu/zeta should be top, the "top houses" seem kind of plain

I’d say the ranks are really based on overall status on campus and PNM interest. Obviously UA’s rush is one of the largest in the nation, so if a house has the ability to do massive cuts each round then it really speaks to their popularity... for example, house ABC will cut hundreds of girls after the first round simply because they don’t have recs because the house is that popular.
And as I mentioned, status plays into ranks as well. Obviously, social status and looks play a big part but I’d say campus involvement and academics play a big role too.
A house is a “top” house because they have girls that “have it all.”

yeah the ranks are based on a culmination of things. bama is the pinnacle of greek life, so you can imagine how competitive rush is. looks don’t cut it anymore because, truth be told, every house (and yes even the “bottom” houses) have hot girls. that said, top houses want well rounded (cute, fun, smart, involved) girls.
