rushing as a soph

by: roll tide

what sororities are kind of known for taking pnms that are sophomores??? ik girls who rush as sophomores are like less desirable than girls who are freshman but I dropped my house this year(ChiO) so i'm looking to re-rush next year, but not sure what houses I would have for options

I would rush instead of cob. Way more options cob is so limited. Plus I’m not sure if this is true anymore but a year or two ago there were quotas for sophomores. So each PC needed a certain number of sophomores which I think helped girls get bids to houses they wouldn’t have gotten rushing as freshmen

I only say that because I know a few Sophs who did formal recruitment this year that did not go well at all. Could be because of zoom idk but I know at least some have cobs

I rushed this year as a soph. I didn't rush last year but I knew a few girls that had rushed and dropped. Tbh recruitment itself didn't go the way I had planned. In the end I love my house, would highly recommend rushing or doing COB as a sophomore. I know girls who got great results (for them) both ways. In the end every house is great for someone. Don't let people tell you that you should've loved chi o cause it is a top house if it wasn't a match for you.

Can you explain what you mean when you say it didn’t go as planned

My guess is she got dropped from more houses than she thought. That’s usually what that means

All houses will take sophomores. A sophomore (really upperclassman) quota doesn't mean a groung HAS to take that many. If you already have good friends in a group, you're more likely to get a bid there. High grades are still a must. Be sure you have a campus activity or two.
