Help Shutdown a Rogue Texas Org

by: Justice

Some of you may be aware that a group at UT Austin known as Texas Rho split from SAE after they got shutdown. Recently members of their organization were caught bar dropping and raping two members of sororities. We are asking everyone at campuses across Texas and the US to band together to shut them down.

Go to change.org/shutdowntexasrho and show your support. #GreeksTakeAStand

There is no way that I'm signing anything without more details from a reputable source (IE link me to somewhere NOT on GreekRank) explaining what happened and why the frat (as opposed to the 2 accused) is responsible.

I'm also gonna need to know who you think you're gonna deliver the petition to for action to happen. The police won't care about this petition and the school can't do anything since they are not official.

If these guys did this, I hope they go to prison but that's an issue for the police in Austin.

Why would we? Not everyone follows every rando in a house on instagram, and I goggled every version of the name and the allegations and there is no news or anything. I found a reddit post on the UT page, the Change.org post, and the alleged victim's Instagram.

Definitely not saying it isn't true, but I want to know what the house's responsibility in this is. Did it happen at their house? Did they kick the guys out? Who is this gonna even go to? They are unaffiliated, so the school can't do anything to shut them down. If they own their own house no one can come and take it from them.

Seems this petition would best be served by focusing on the people who did it and getting it investigated (I can't even find that is happening, but I assume it is), I'd sign it in a heartbeat, but I'm not gonna blindly sign a petition to shut down an organization when no one has the power to actually do it. If it happened in their house, they should also investigate if there is a cover up which could get more people in trouble. However, I wouldn't want someone coming in and demanding my house was shut down just because one of my brothers may have done something horrible that had nothing to do with my house.

I sure hope the sororities at UT are being smart and steering clear of any parties or events that are happening with these guys until this plays out.

There are now close to 6,000 signatures on the petition. We need the support of the entire Greek community, including members of sororities and fraternities, their alumni, their friends, and families. Let's show the survivors the support they need.

If they were in a bar, what does Rho have to do with it? Were the girls taken back to the house? Was there a big cover up? I'm confused why the focus, if justice is what you want, is on the house and not the guys who did it.

Are they in jail or at least being charged?

There are now over 6,500 signatures on the petition. Supporting the survivors of horrific actions and behavior such as this takes the entire nationwide Greek community. This is an opportunity for all of us to get from under the awful public perception people have of us...
