Chances at Specifc Sororites
by: pnmHow difficult is it to get a bid at Gamma Phi, Delta Gamma, or Zeta at UA? I’m open to all houses but these sororities specifically interest me for a few different reasons. What type of girl do they all look for?

Of the three you mentioned, it is hardest to get a bid at Zeta, and they are the best of the three mentioned. I'd echo what was said above - if you don't fit in it can be hard to feel welcome.
I would disagree though that DG is better than Gphi. I think Gphi is better than DG now, and I certainly do not think they are in the lower three. Gphi has worse grades, so it is easier to get a bid if you are a grade risk. Other than grades though, I wouldn't say one is harder than the other to get a bid at.

Zeta - You’d fit in if you were a cheerleader type in high school. If you like to party really hard. If you prioritize outward appearances.
DG - You’d fit in if you were a student body president type in high school. Someone organized and studious. Someone who enjoys to party but doesn’t prioritize it.

I read on hear that G Phi had one of the best retention rates of any of the sororities. That has to count for something.

Nope. She's right. G Phi has excellent retention and I'm surprised you didn't know this because people started noticing a couple of years ago. Just a suggestion. If you want to be hateful about some houses, don't do it on the internet. It just makes people think you're crazy and like those houses even more.

No one is hating on GPhi, people are simply calling it what it is. Yes they are a great house, but not as great as Zeta and DG

You can have your opinion about GPhi but the facts are they had the highest retention of new row and higher than many old row a year or two ago. Look it up....can’t argue facts.

If you want to talk retention rates talk about the real reason why girls go inactive at Alabama and it’s the cost! Once you have your friends and you don’t need the date parties food etc anymore why keep paying almost 10 grand a year? Not everyone can afford that so let’s be real.

I agree, Everyone on this site makes retention sound so much deeper than it is. Every sorority on campus has girls that drop and its not that big of a deal.

This thread is a mess lol. I don’t understand how some of you are saying “no one in their right mind likes XYZ” or “all PNMs can’t wait to get rid of ABC.” Most PNMs aren’t even aware of “ranks” when they rush. You guys really need to shut up and stop pushing agendas.

Gphi is a good house, just simply not better than Zeta or DG. People are getting mad saying that we are hating on them. We aren't . All we are saying is that Gphi is not better than Zeta or DG
