House #2 wanted you more than House #1, plain and simple. If you were on list 1 for House 1 you would be there. But you aren’t so you’re on list 2. Which means you were on House 2s list 1. If you were on both houses list 2 you would be in House 1. So to be super blunt: your house wanted you more than House 1. Want them back!! Don’t pine for something that didn’t fight for you.

You didn't do anything wrong. Probably there were other girls that had more friends in the house or had things on their resme that the house needed. Both houses wanted you or you wouldn't have been invited to pref at both houses. But there isn't anyway you could have been a different person and made house #1 move you up on their list. But if you realize how little time you've spent with those girls, you'll realize that you don't know them well enough to have that much of a preference. Go to your new house and throw yourself into every activity. Get to know all your sisters and tell everyone that #2 was your #1 choice. Be successful!
