Curious About PNMs During Rush

It happens, but would definitely not happen for 10%! A girl with fantastic grades and involvement, who sends her recs in early, can expect to have more choices.

I swear but I didn’t get dropped by anyone. I have good grades, recs and involvements but i think i got lucky. I think I was asked back because I had good convos with girls at every house, i didn’t get anyone that was hard to talk to.

I know of girls with subpar grades, who are in state and went to specific private schools that regularly have perfect recruitments.

There are girls every year who have a perfect rush. Grades, involvement, reputation, actual conversations, and letters of rec all play a huge role in this. But I think the biggest is, being connected, but not being too connected. Meaning - knowing girls in the houses, but not being too connected to one specific one. For example, if someone’s best friend is in on house or she’s a legacy there, other houses will drop her in anticipation that is where she’ll go. Girls that have all of the above and know girls in EVERY house and are very neutral will usually have a perfect rush. I think neutrality plays a huge role in this

I pretty much had a perfect recruitment this year. I got the houses I wanted each round, lost the houses I ranked last, and was never disappointed in my card. In fairness, I was open minded to all houses coming in and wasn’t gunning for “top” houses only. I got a bid to an upper middle ranked house (by Greek rank standards, but not actual campus standards), and I couldn’t be happier.
