Does COB mean a house did badly?
by: hiyaNot trying to start drama or anything like that, please no trolls! Was wondering if COB means a house does badly? If so, I was confused as to why "sought after" houses like Zeta and PBP are doing COB??? If someone could clarify that'd be appreciated xx

No— to clear up COB because there’s a lot of confusion— any house that is below chapter total, which is the same for all houses, is eligible for COB. Total is literally the average of membership in each house, so therefore 1/2 of chapters will always be eligible for COB. This does not mean they will COB. It also doesn’t mean they’re dramatically under total, they could be under by 1 and still eligible.

No this doesn’t mean a house did badly at all. Like the above posters said...This is a total member number and doesn’t have a lot to do with the newest pledge class. The total could be set at 405 and a house could have 404 and be considered eligible. This doesn’t mean they will actually COB or that they need to...just that they can if they want to.

Yes, and this could be due to early graduates, or this year I would think there were some actives that didn’t come back due to the pandemic. It will change each semester as member totals change.
