did sdt get a pledge class?

I don’t know... at least when SDT does their normal rush, girls are turning up willingly. I’m sure no one signed up for rush this year thinking they’d be dropped to SDT. I feel terrible if they didn’t do well but it doesn’t seem that surprising :(

The fear with them doing formal was always that there are girls who wanted the typical bama sorority experience then there were girls looking for something different in SDT. Was SDT making it clear they’re going to be more like the rest of us? Was that not even their intention and were they just here bc they probably won’t be able to do their normal recruitment routine? Who knows. We will all find out soon.

I’m sure their nationals would love it if they were more like the rest of us.
Sig Delt does do well at some larger campuses, like UGA for example. As an org they’re much stronger in the north though.

I bet they lost a lot of girls to SK especially since they are closer to the row. Hopefully they get a good sized pledge class

Well there it is then! The proof we needed.
Now question is, how? By the logic of RMF this shouldn’t have really happened? Unless all the girls they tried to bid then dropped out.

If they only got 5 that means most girls assigned to them declined the bid.
Perhaps if Greek Life here and this website weren’t so toxic to each other, this wouldn’t have happened.

Perhaps if they were at the same level as the other 17 chapters more girls would have accepted the bid. It is not their fault at all, I just don’t see why anyone thought this was a good idea.

They literally had to or else there was no certainty that we’d be on campus long enough for them to have their usual recruitment.

The problem with SDT being a part of formal recruitment is that they have carved out a space of being “alternative” and the girls who went there previously had intentionally wanted a smaller and different experience. I sure many of the girls at their pref night also had SK as their other house and even though they are technically newer they have always tried to be closer to the traditional experience especially with them being on the row so I’m guessing most of the girls that had them as their two choices preffed SK over SDT because as you can see for their IG story their pledge class was way larger. It’s unfortunate but hopefully they are able to COB well

Yeah I'm surprised SDT jumped right into formal recruitment.
My best friend was a founding sister of panhellenic chapter in NC. Her school had formal recruitment with their long standing sororities & then the new sorority had their own recruitment a month later. The new sorority was able to be selective, get girls who got dropped from recruitment or dropped themselves, & find girls who wanted to be part of something new. They did really well and pledged like 200 girls as a colony.

I agree, in the worst case scenario I don’t see them getting fewer girls than they’d normally COB.
I was really hoping with recruitment being virtual that it would be less superficial and help them.
