Why are houses that cob considered top?

No the truth is popping out..... why would anyone want to be part of a house that has a retention rate so low they have to cob. What does that say about the house

Phi mu cobs too, maybe not every single year but they most definitely have very recently

Four years ago Phi Mu gave 3 COB bids in the Spring. Check the grade reports under new members. It's not going to happen for you. Sorry.

Look for the COB info and interest form on the Panhellenic site. Only houses under this total are eligible to issue COB bids. The houses eligible for COB last fall (2019) were:
Alpha Delta Chi, Alpha Phi, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Delta Tau, and Sigma Kappa
The houses eligible for spring (2020) were:
Alpha Delta Chi, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Delta Tau, Sigma Kappa, and Zeta Tau Alpha
Panhellenic will revise the average chapter total now that recruitment is over and post the eligible houses. ADChi and SDT (in the past) primarily used COB for recruitment. Remember that just because a house is eligible doesn’t mean they COB tons of girls

Houses also pick up Spring cobs to replace Dec graduates. Not usually girls that other houses passed on. Spring transfers in and girls who did not rush in the fall.

Panhellenic has updated the houses now eligible for COB (see COB page on Panhellenic site). The chapters currently eligible for Continuous Open Bidding are:
Alpha Delta Chi
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Phi
Delta Zeta
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Pi Beta Phi
Sigma Kappa
Sigma Delta Tau
Zeta Tau Alpha

Yes but when you COB you bid girls the other houses dropped, therefore lowering the “prestige” of that PC.
