Honest question about "lower" sororities

by: Plsbenice

Ok I have an honest question about how y'all say "lower or bottom tier" sororities. I have SK and SDT left for pref. I've really enjoyed talking to them and think I'll fit in well at either one. I feel very grateful to have made it this far in the process and to have girls who want to be my sister! If I had never come on this website which I know my bad then I would have no idea of their reputations. But I can't lie and pretend like I haven't seen them listed last in every stupid ranking post. I don't care about this from a personal point of view but I do care about being ridiculed. I just don't want to be made fun of or looked down on for wearing my letters on campus. There seems to be a lot of support and acceptance recently on this site for these two but is that how it is on campus too? I just don't want to be made fun of. Can anyone speak to this? Thank you and pls be honest but also nice :)

It doesn't really come up on campus I don't think. Like most people don't care that much to ridicule people about it. But I guess there are always people who are jerks for no reason. I think there is a ton on Pan love and other sorority members are supportive.

You sound like a sweet PNM. This site does not reflect attitudes on campus. You’ll be fine. No one will make fun of you and if they do, all the more reason to wear your letters proudly! Congrats and good luck tomorrow.

No one will care or judge you, I promise! There are so many people on campus from all walks of life. What’s important is that you join a sisterhood you love and can grow with over these next years!

I joined a bottom house and was very self conscious about it for like a year, but I can only remember one or two actual situations where other girls were rude about it, during Greek week actually. So it was mostly all in my head. Literally doesn’t matter after freshman year!

I’m from out of state in a “bottom” house and it did not matter once I got home for summer. Don’t worry about people here who might turn up their nose. They’re few and far between. Most don’t care and those who do don’t matter. I can tell you the chapter I’m in is 10x better than any “top” chapter at any of my hometown friends schools.

I’m in a “bottom tier” sorority on campus and I rarely ever hear any judgement from people! Every sorority supports one another no matter what “tier” they are! Fraternities don’t even care what tier you are either as long as you know how to have fun! In reality, both chapters are quite new to campus so people are just making assumptions on what they’re like.

No one on campus cares. Just this site.

they just don’t have a very big presence or houses. Most houses improve when they finally build houses

Houses make a big difference.

Both have good reputations, and the other sororities like them. The trolls on this site put them last because SK is new, and SDT is small and participating in formal for the first time in forever. Feel good about either choice!
