telling your #2 you don’t like them as much

during pref how do we Be honest and tell our #2 we don’t like them as much? That sounds so awkward. could we just not be super reassuring and ask questions the whole time and then they would get the hint???? or do we have to say it outright? or could we just tell them we are still indecisive

I think it would be fine to tell them you are feeling it more with XYZ and are going to list them first, but that if you got a bid to ABC you would still be excited/honored and run home to them.

Telling them pretty much only helps them because if you don’t get your #1 you just lost your #2 by telling them and they could just move someone else above you and take what could’ve been your spot. So I would just not say anything except to your #1 house that you really like them and can see yourself fitting into their sisterhood.
