There is nothing wrong with you. Sometimes these things just don't work out the way we would like them to. There are lots of girls in your situation. Let this make you a stronger and better person. If this is the worse thing that happens to you this year, you've had a pretty good year. Stay positive and Illegitimi non carborundum.

Bid day will be the hardest for you. After today, it will get better. Find orgs on campus that need you. Throw yourself into college and your studies. I know it doesn't seem so now, but everyone at Alabama is NOT Greek. You will find your way.

Yes, this day will feel terrible to you after trying so hard all week. Try to stay strong in remembering that these sororities (girls) really had no way of knowing you after one week and there are a lot of great organizations to get involved with on campus! How brave of you to go through rush to begin with! You are great and your time at Alabama has so much more to offer you. Believe in yourself!

Can you imagine how great it would be if all the PNMs that got released banded together and joined SDT? Think about it girls. (Of course, that would totally be up to the sisters of SDT)

That would be a great thing! Lots of great girls dropped or got released.

i feel like it's really easy for people in sororities to say "oh there's so much to get involved in" or "there's other things besides greek life"...this was something i was really looking forward to. all of my relatives were in sororities, not at alabama, but at other places, and i don't understand why i didn't get invited back honestly. and it feels like everyone but me did. i'm so embarrassed

maybe transfer and try your luck at a less competitive school

I don't see how any women's organization or club will measure up to the lifestyle you're looking for in a sorority, and to be constantly reminded of what could of been.

Honestly, sororities at other schools are just as active and fun, but I know this would be serious decision for you to consider

Best of luck

Transfer to a school without Greek life and that way you wouldn't feel left out. With your amazing grades it sounds like you could get in somewhere like Rice, Oberlin, Grinnell, etc.

Transfer schools because she didn’t get into a sorority? That’s ridiculous. With those stats she probably has a ton of scholarship money. You will find your people just be patient.

There is nothing wrong with you. This will pass. It seems to be mainly a Freshmen "thing" anyway. They say, " What don't kill you will make you stronger". This WILL make you a stronger person. Unfortunately, we are faced with rejection for the rest of our lives. Turned down by job interviews, etc. You are at college to get an education, not to become a socialite. In 30 years in the engineering field, I have never been asked what Greek affiliation I was in college. Although at Auburn, I was a member of AOK during intramural sports. You will find many fun activities and make many life-long friends. Be yourself while you can. Your future employer will expect you to be someone else. By the way, make your parents proud as a student. I promise you, they don't care about sororities. Although they want you to be happy today, their main concern is that you get a good job when you graduate. BE STRONG! TAKE CONTROL! WAR EAGLE!
