worst rush experience
by: :)Curious as to what everyone’s worst rush experience was. Name the sorority if you really wanna spill the tea (and all of those people who say not to do that because it isn’t nice— no sorority is perfect, and this is what GreekRank is for, and it’ll be helpful for PNMs)

Too much self ranking by the same sororities that dirty rushed everyone some have just shown how desperate they are

Same with me, they talked bad about the sorority I ended up biding which made the conversations sorta uncomfortable. I still thought they had a really good rush the first few days but yeah was dropped after that.

I was hotboxed at Kappa too except one of the girls was so high she couldn’t stay still and kept touching me and it was so uncomfortable

That’s part of the term. Four girls surrounding a PNM is a technical box. Usually no more than 2 actives will converse with a PNM unless they are trading her among their bump group. But, if they’re not talking to you about how much they want you in the house and how great a fit you are to their house, that’s not “hot” in the box. That’s just girls trying to see if you should stay next round or get dropped.

Per the UA panhel website: "Hotboxing is defined as any situation in which 4 or more active members are participating in conversation with a Potential New Member during recruitment activities." (always heard it's three or more actives but whatever)
Intent has nothing to do with it and I've never heard anyone just say they got "boxed." Pretty sure the assumption is that if you're talking to four girls at once they're interested in you.

I fell walking out of a house where we sat on the floor, my foot fell dead asleep and I had no idea until I got up. Surprised I made it out with my shoe tbh

Met a girl during summer before college at a party in Mountain Brook. We had a few drinks (too many) and next thing you know we are hooking up in an upstairs bedroom. I left the party later that night...didn't see her again until 2nd round of rush at one of the sorority houses. It was a little embarrassing when we were paired up. We exchanged pleasantries. Not sure if she remembered me, but I sure remembered her! Needless to say I didn't join her house.

I was dirty rushed by Phi Mu and Zeta. Ended up not pledging either of those.
