transfer

by: New York

Please help me out , I was thinking about transferring to UofA for next semester I am already in a sorority in my college that (from what I read on here) some might consider a top house (OR). So I was wondering if someone could just explain to me what Greek life is like down here because for what I can tell it’s VERYY different than in New York, people seems to take it very seriously. So maybe if you guys could tell me what every org is like or what they’re known for and what it’s like for transters. Btw I am not a troll I am a very real person trying to find out about Greek life here and I don’t know anyone who goes to UA (although I feel like a weenie for typing this)

some houses here are kind of hard to transfer into, but most will be very accepting!! since you said it’s an old row house, illl five a little run down of those houses.

AXO: very involved, grade oriented. from what i know. pretty strict rules

XO: similar to axo, but with a little more partying

PM: very pretty, very “sorority girls”. put together, but known for being kind of shallow

AGD: more low key, have a big grades and christianity reputation. not huge partiers

DDD: fun girls, more partying. still very involved though!!

KKG: biggest party house on campus, chill girls who like to have fun. i think they have the most laid back rules as well

KD: similar to kappa, with more of a mean girl reputation

all houses here have tons of date parties, lots of swaps, and lots of opportunities to get involved on campus!!! our greek like is strong, and all houses have great sweet girls who will be dying to be your friend!!!

Why would you need to find out what "every org is like" if you are already in a sorority? The only one that would matter is the one you are in now. Your house down here would have AROUND 400 MEMBERS, a FULL SOCIAL CALENDAR, and a MANSION. To keep such a large organization running there are rules and dues, and fees for not complying with them. Your house's exec would have to meet you and decide if you would be a good fit and contributing member for their chapter before extending an offer to affiliate. You are better off contacting them directly.

The other "Tell me reputations" post got called out, so she had to post another one to answer herself.

Thanks for the advice and for the part about knowing what other orgs are like I just wanted to know to mainly get a sense of Greek life at UA and because I don’t think it’s a good idea to reveal what org I’m in but anyways thanks again for letting me know

@truth I have no idea what you’re talking about and even if I was the other person wouldn’t it be pretty ridiculous for me to make up a whole backstory but anyway I guess you guys are giving me a pretty good glimpse into what Greek life is in the south people take it WAYY to seriously
