fraternity rush

I know this week is formal rush and my son is hearing all OR bids have been given out already before school starts.
So what is the point? Isn’t it unfair and disingenuous to even pretend these boys have a chance?
What about legacies?

Fraternities do not have formal rush, they have an open orientation for those not already receiving a bid during the summer. Vast majority of the fraternities do their rushing during the summer. So, yes many fraternities have already filled their pledge classes.

If you are a legacy the fraternity already knew about you last semester and you were invited to a summer rush function.
