Cross rushing has not so much to do with where pnm's are preffing as it does with houses that consistently target the same pnm's. They are different things. With so many pnm's and so many houses, there is every possible combination of pref houses occurring. Just because a pnm has a certain combo of house for pref doesn't necessarily mean those houses 'cross rush.'

Like I said, every possible combination of prefs will happen. That doesn't indicate a trend or a tendency to cross rush. It's not a preconceived notion, it is statistical data that shows certain houses with definite bell curves of cross rushing. There are always outlying houses to the left and right of the curve for each house. Besides, it is a new set of data beginning this year with two prefs instead of one.

I'm an alum and former RC (also OOS and went OR) so here's my advice:
1) Go where you feel most comfortable. If you can be yourself and feel accepted then friendships will follow. DON'T pledge a house that makes you feel like you always have to be "your best" or "perfect" in order to belong... because once you join, your sisters will see you at your best and worst.
2) Pay attention to how women treat each other during pref. This tells you a lot more about the culture of a house than how they treat PNMs.
3) Look past the stereotype and remember that there are dozens of OOS (even far OOS) girls in EVERY sorority, including old row, and that becomes the case more and more as time goes on. You will be just fine no matter where you end up :)

Those are two great choices! Just go in ready to jump in and make friends. Look around your pledge class for other girls who are alone or just have one or two people around and introduce yourself. It's weird at first for everyone so everyone is so happy to make new friends :)

This happens more than people think. Just because it’s two completely different houses doesn’t mean they won’t get those two kinds of houses back on pref. There are so many combinations that happen.

Not really sure what to do if I get my second choice because my first is obviously PM. I feel like the only reason DZ has kept me is bc some girls know me from my hometown. I’ve been keeping an open mind and if I get DZ give it a try even though i feel like I don’t fit in at all there.

Because I have seen everywhere on here about Sigma Kappa recolonizing. Because I have seen everywhere on here that Alpha Phi has kicked out many of its less desirable members. Because my mom is a very active alumni in her sorority and has assisted in recolonizing somechapters. I didn't say out Alpha Phi was recolonizing. I think I said it's almost like they are. I am a potential new member, not an idiot. You're really picking at straws trying to prove everyone is a troll

A Phi did not mention "rebuilding" so I know this is a lie. I think A Phi is just trying to get girls to accept their bids.

So you were there? I'm talking about a personal conversation I had with a couple of the girls rushing me. I asked them about the issues and they answered honestly. I like them. I listed them second, but I would not be sad to see them on my bid card.

Call it whatever you want, but pref IS the two houses that wanted the PNM!
Don’t know how that happens without “rushing” them.
Sorry it messes with your preconceived notions, but the houses a girls has at pref DOES represent houses that want (and were rushing) the same girl.
