fraternity bid

by: Flow

I'm from OOS and moving in tomorrow, but still haven't received a fraternity bid. Am I f@cked? I've been texting a few rush chairs and talked to a couple during Bama Bound, but no bid. I keep hearing all bids are given out by the time school starts next week, so curious if that is true or if I can still find a home. Not looking for OR, but still would like a house on campus.

Keep texting, emailing, and phoning the rush captains. Try to get a face-to-face meeting. If your new roommate or suitemate has pledged, see if he will take you over to the house. If all else fails, make sure you've signed up thru IFC, go to the rush convocation and go thru the process. Slim chance with the top 6 or 7, but there are other good ones that will have openings.

Naming names brings out the haters on here, but...
I'd target PhiPsi. Real sleeper, recent turnaround, good guys, mostly OOS, needing to keep their numbers up to pay for a big, new house on University.

Also, not on the same level, but a newcomer is STG. Just boot-strapped themselves into a house. Not too full of themselves, yet. Hard workers with good grades, trying to build their numbers.

A lot of fraternities still hold back bids for guys like you. There are more guys in your shoes than you think. When you get on campus, hit up the rush chairs you talked to before and are texting. Don't just look on University, but there are good houses on Jefferson too. Be yourself, socialize and it'll all work out. Pike is looking to rebuild as well.
